Silver Maples Over Postwar Rooftops
The neighborhoods that filled in during the 1950s and 1960s got the cheap, fast tree of the era. Silver maple grows quickly, which is what the builders wanted, and it has weak wood, which is what you inherit sixty years later.

Plaster Creek and Buck Creek

The Older East Side and the Newer South End
The neighborhoods on the northeast side, around Godwin Heights and Godfrey-Lee, are older and tighter, with small lots, alleys, and detached garages. Removals there get roped and lowered rather than dropped. The south end, out toward 56th Street and Byron Center Avenue, has newer housing on former farm ground, with wider lots and easier equipment access. Same tree, different job, different price.
Tree Removal Permits in Wyoming
For a tree inside your property line, you generally will not need a permit. Trees in the terrace strip between the sidewalk and the curb usually sit in the public right of way and belong to the city. Commercial and industrial parcels under site plan review can carry their own landscaping and screening conditions, which is worth knowing before you clear a fence line. We check before we cut.
