West roots were prompt, very professional and did a great job on all 3 times we hired them. We were so happy we recommended them to several neighbors who hired them also.
The guys at West Roots did an amazing job on a large oak I needed down in my back yard. There wasn’t a stick or leaf left after they completed the job. Will definitely use them in the future for any work I need done. Really impressed.
Great communication, competitive pricing, and timely services! Would contact them again for any tree service.
Wow, Cory & his team are incredible at what they do. They climb trees like squirrels & leave no trace that they were even there. They got me on the schedule quick & charged a great price for the work to be done. Only tree guys I will use from here on out!!

Professional Stump Removal Services
Stumps left in place don’t just look bad — they can become a real nuisance. They make lawn care harder, attract wood-boring insects and pests, and can become a hazard for kids and guests.
We look at the stump’s size, root spread, and location relative to structures, sidewalks, and landscaping before recommending the right approach.
Depending on what we find, we’ll use a professional-grade stump grinder to reduce the stump and surface roots below grade.
Our goals on every job:
- Remove the stump completely below ground level
- Protect surrounding turf, landscaping, and hardscapes
- Minimize disruption to the rest of your yard
Most stump jobs are completed in a single visit.

Stump Removal FAQs
How much does stump removal cost?
Stump removal pricing depends on several factors:
- Stump diameter and height above ground
- Root spread and depth
- Distance from structures, sidewalks, or landscaping
- Ground access for equipment
- Number of stumps being removed
Two stumps that look similar can differ in price based on access and what’s around them. We provide free estimates after connecting with you about your project.
What's the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Stump grinding uses a machine to grind the stump and surface roots down several inches below ground level. The wood chips can be used as fill or hauled away. Full stump extraction — pulling the root ball entirely — is only an option for smaller stumps from saplings, bushes, hedges, etc. We’ll recommend the right approach for your situation in your estimate.
Will the stump grow back after grinding?
No. Grinding below the soil line prevents regrowth. It also eliminates the food source that attracts pests like termites and carpenter ants.
Can I replant where the stump was?
Yes. Once the stump is ground down and the chips are cleared or mixed back in, you can replant, reseed, or lay sod over the area.
